Leading California Radiotherapy Center Invests in LinaTech's IGRT/EPID System for More Precise Cancer Treatment

Aug 24, 2012

TULARE, United States, -- August 24, 2012 -- LinaTech's Mega Voltage, Amorphous Silicon Flat Panel Detector based IGRT/EPID system has been acquired by a leading radiotherapy center in California to provide their patients with more precise cancer treatment.

The system's Image Viewing System (IVS) allows providers to view the area to be treated before irradiation, ensuring healthy tissue is not affected during treatment. The IGRT/EPID system helps providers take images of the patient on the treatment couch with the IVS and compare those images to reference DRR's from a CT to ensure optimal placement of the patient and tumor for treatment.

The center's patients can now benefit from more accurate and precise treatments thanks to the acquisition of LinaTech's Mega Voltage, Amorphous Silicon Flat Panel Detector based IGRT/EPID System. In addition to improved treatment, the IVS also offers a secondary benefit of enhanced revenue through new billing codes, which can help the clinic or hospital acquire new products or hire new employees. This leads to better resources and facilities for the community.
