California based Radiotherapy provider acquires LinaTech's Mega Voltage, Amorphous Silicon Flat Panel Detector based IGRT/EPID System

August 24, 2012

TULARE, United States, -- August 24, 2012 -- Leading radiotherapy center purchases LinaTech's Mega Voltage, Amorphous Silicon Flat Panel Detector based IGRT/EPID system to provide their patients with more precise cancer treatment. The IVS (Image Viewing System) is able to give treatment providers a view of the area to be treated before irradiating. When treating cancer with radiation it is critical that healthy tissue does not get irradiated. The IGRT/EPID system works by the provider first taking images of the patient on the treatment couch with the IVS. Then, those images are compared to reference DRR's from a CT to make sure the patient and tumor are in the most optimal place for treatment. The provider’s patients will now receive more precise treatments, see what you treat.

In addition to more precise treatment, users of the IVS will also benefit by enhancing their revenue through new billing codes. Revenue enhancement is a secondary benefit but one that can help a clinic or hospital acquire new products or hire new employees. New products and new employees give communities access to more and better resources.
