PerkinElmer and LinaTech Collaborate to Develop Imaging Sub-Systems for Cancer Treatment

PerkinElmer, a global leader in medical imaging, has entered into a joint technology development and marketing agreement with LinaTech, a leading manufacturer of medical devices and software for cancer treatment with radiotherapy. The goal of this collaboration is to develop, implement, market, and distribute cost-effective imaging technologies for the treatment of certain types of cancer.

The products to be developed will include imaging upgrade solutions for legacy film-based radiotherapy systems, as well as imaging subsystems for sale to radiotherapy system manufacturers. The first-generation product, the FDA 510k approved LinaTech TiGRT Image Viewing System, was showcased at the American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology in San Diego in 2011.

This collaboration brings together the expertise and innovation of two leaders in their respective fields to provide advanced solutions for cancer treatment. By developing new imaging technologies and applications, doctors and hospitals will have more imaging options to improve the accuracy and effectiveness of cancer treatments.
